Refund Policy

1. Overview
FableLab uses a Spark-based system. You purchase Spark packs, and each story generation consumes 1 Spark. All payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy as our Merchant of Record, which means Lemon Squeezy handles invoicing, tax compliance, and payment processing.
2. Automatic Refunds (Safety Blocks)
Every story generated by FableLab passes through a multi-layer quality and safety review. If a story is blocked for safety reasons, your Spark is refunded automatically and immediately. No action is required on your part — you will see the refunded Spark in your balance.
3. EU Right of Withdrawal
Under EU consumer protection law, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases. However, in accordance with Article 16(m) of the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), the right of withdrawal does not apply to digital content that has been fully delivered with your prior express consent and acknowledgment that you lose your withdrawal right.
By using a Spark to generate a story, you expressly consent to immediate delivery of digital content and acknowledge that you waive your right of withdrawal for that specific Spark.
Unused Sparks within purchased packs are eligible for a refund within 14 days of purchase — either as a full refund (if no Sparks were used) or as a pro-rated refund for the unused portion (see Section 5).
4. When We Refund
- Safety block: story was automatically blocked by our safety system (instant Spark refund)
- Technical failure: story generation failed due to a system error and was not delivered
- Double charge: you were charged twice for the same Spark pack
- Unused packs: full pack refund within 14 days if no Sparks have been used
- Partially used packs: pro-rated refund for unused Sparks within 14 days of purchase (see Section 5)
5. Pro-Rated Refunds (Partial Use)
If you have used some Sparks from a purchased pack and request a refund within 14 days of purchase, you are eligible for a pro-rated refund for the unused Sparks.
The refund is calculated proportionally: (unused Sparks / total Sparks in pack) x purchase price. For example, if you purchased a 30-Spark pack for €59.99 and used 7 Sparks, the refund would be calculated as (23 / 30) x €59.99 = ~€46.
The actual refund amount may be slightly less than the calculated amount due to non-refundable payment processing fees retained by the payment provider (Lemon Squeezy). Applicable taxes (VAT) are adjusted automatically and proportionally by the payment provider.
Pro-rated refunds are available only within 14 days from the date of purchase. After this period, unused Sparks remain in your account but are no longer eligible for a monetary refund.
6. When We Cannot Refund
- Successfully generated stories — even if you are not satisfied with the creative output (AI output varies by nature)
- Individual used Sparks — once a Spark is consumed and content is delivered, that specific Spark cannot be refunded
- Packs purchased more than 14 days ago — the refund window has expired
- Welcome Sparks or referral bonus Sparks — these are free grants, not purchases
7. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, contact us at aphrodite.dev.studio@gmail.com with:
- Your account email address
- The order ID (from your purchase confirmation email)
- The number of unused Sparks you would like to refund
- A brief description of the reason
8. Processing Timeline
- Safety block refunds: instant (Spark restored to your balance automatically)
- Technical failure refunds: within 24 hours of reporting
- Pro-rated and full pack refunds via Lemon Squeezy: 5-10 business days after approval, depending on your payment method and bank
